History

        
        Since 1976 the partnership of Bruce Thayer and Steve Christenson has been providing quality contracting services throughout the greater Boston area. Although primarily based in Cambridge, we have undertaken projects from Ocean Park, Maine to Westport, Massachusetts and to Berkshire County in Western Massachusetts. 
        For many years the company has operated under the title of Bruce G. Thayer, Inc. Following the unexpected death of Mr. Thayer, Steve Christenson took over the business under the new name of Thayer-Christenson, LLC. We have been fortunate to maintain the same group of talented carpenters and staff, and the support of a knowledgeable group of sub-contractors in every trade. 
        Throughout our history we have prided ourselves in producing quality projects both large and small. We have partially or wholly restored many fine homes, both contemporary and historic in Cambridge and have provided contracting services for repairs, renovation and the construction of additions on homes of every size and style. 
        Our staff are polite, educated, interesting people who take pride in their work and in your home. We enjoy getting to know the people we work for, as we find these relationships lead to good communication and a well executed product. We regularly work with architects and engineers, and can also work directly with our clients to design and construct smaller scale projects. We have talented craftsmen and artisans who possess unique skills and would enjoy the opportunity to introduce their expertise into their daily work when deemed appropriate.
